HOW LONG DOES AÂ THERAPY SESSION TAKE AND HOW OFTEN ARE THE APPOINTMENTS?
Each CBT session will last for up to 1 hour. Appointments will be weekly on the same day and time
WHAT APPROACHES DO YOU USE?
As a Psychotherapist I am able to draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches in order to meet your needs. This includes:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CAN I CONTACT YOU IF I'M IN CRISIS?
Please be aware this is not a crisis service. If you need to speak to someone urgently then you can contact your GP, 111 or the Samaritans on 116 123. If you feel unable to keep yourself safe, then you can ring 999 or present in your nearest A&E where you'll be assessed and offered further support.
WILL EVERYTHING BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL?
Everything you share with me will be kept confidential and GDPR compliant. For good practice, I routinely write to your GP at the end of our sessions to provide an overview of the main CBT techniques we've covered with any further recommendations for treatment. If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, then as a healthcare professional I will have a duty of care to inform the relevant professional and to discuss this with you first.
